France supports a global thematic consultation on environmental sustainability in the post-2015 Development Agenda

Three years from 2015, France is stepping up its efforts to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), particularly in the countries that are furthest from achieving them, while actively taking part in the international reflection on the next post-2015 Development Agenda.

The post-2015 Development Agenda should be defined with all the relevant stakeholders and all development partners. France advocates holding the broadest consultations with civil society, local authorities, private stakeholders, and those primarily concerned, namely the most disadvantaged in all countries.

In this connection, France supports the thematic consultation on environmental sustainability organized by UNDP and UNEP to define post-2015 development priorities.

The consultation, which will take place in several phases, has called for written online contributions in the form of short, informed documents on innovative environmental sustainability themes to be considered in the post-2015 Development Agenda. The deadline for submitting written contributions is 28 December 2012.
