Jérôme Lohez 9/11 Scholarship Foundation Cocktail
Jérome Lohez was one of five French citizens who perished at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. His widow, Dening Lohez, created a scholarship foundation in 2005 in memory of her husband to promote educational and cultural exchanges between France and the United States.
In 2012, the Lohez Foundation launched partnerships with university-level programs around the world with Fudan University in Shanghai. A native of that city, Ms. Lohez is a citizen of both France and the United States.
In a single decade, the Lohez Foundation has awarded more than 30 scholarships to exceptional young leaders, who will help to shape the world of our future.
This year, Rebecca Assouline-Bera, and Pierre Savary, an intern in the Press Office of the Consulate, were among those who were awarded scholarships, and represent the excellence sought by the Foundation.
Those in attendance were treated to a short violin performance by Pierre Savary.
