Paris, the Euro Area’s leading financial centre

The Paris financial centre plays a leading role in Europe, thanks to its clusters of excellence:

- a leading investment cluster in Europe for investment funds, with €1,500 billion, and the leader in the Euro Area, if one considers the total assets managed in France, amounting to €2,600 billion.

- a powerful network of finance and investment banks with several clusters of excellence: equity derivatives (26% of market share in Europe), complex financial packages/structured financing (25% of market share in Europe), asset management (four French players among the global top 20) and post-trade securities processing (three French banks among the global top 10 for custody).

- an active stock market which includes Euronext, Europe’s second largest stock exchange, just behind London in terms of transaction volume (€2,000 billion) and stock market capitalization.

- Europe’s leading corporate bond markets: Paris carries out nearly 35% of total bond issues in the Euro Area and accounts for nearly 40% of all credit.
