French Success Story: The Naudet Brothers [fr]

12 years after filming the September 11 attacks, the Naudet brothers are the directors of a documentary series about the terrorist attacks of November 13 in Paris. In our new video, they talk about their journey and how their experiences shaped their lives as filmmakers.

On September 11 2001, Jules and Gedeon Naudet were shooting a documentary about New York City’s firemen when the first plane crashed into on of the Twin Towers. As a result, they were able to film exclusive scenes of the tragic terrorist attack and the following horrors. Their documentary, soberly entitled “9/11” and released in 2002, won 2 Emmy Awards.

More recently, they distinguished themselves with their documentary about the terrorist attacks of 2015 in Paris: “13 novembre : Fluctuat Nec Mergitur”, in which they gathered testimonies from dozens of witnesses and survivors of the tragedy.

In both sets of documentaries, the Naudet brothers were committed to highlight the voices of the victims, as well as their courage and resilience.
