Head off for Transat New York—Vendée on May 29th
A final group of 17 skippers will line up for the start of the New York—Vendée (Les Sables d’Olonne) Transatlantic race, sponsored by Currency House and SpaceCode. Less than six months from Vendée Globe, this race reunites all the favorites for the IMOCA Ocean Masters World Championships. With seven IMOCAs equipped with lifting foils, this contest is highly anticipated by those who love high-seas racing.
The IMOCA60s arrive at the IGY North Cove Marina at Brookfield Place in lower Manhattan during the day on Sunday, May 22nd from Newport, Rhode Island after completing the overnight SpaceCode prologue race. On Friday, May 27th, the fleet will participate in the “Currency House Charity Race” on the Hudson River.
The start of the New York—Vendée (Les Sables d’Olonne) race presented by Currency House and Spacecode, the fourth leg of the 2015-2016 IMOCA Ocean Masters World Championship, will be on Sunday, May 29th, at 11 am (local time in New York).
