Ingrid Betancourt, silence and words

JPEG“Even Silence Has an End”. A difficult, but happy one, which Ingrid Betancourt spoke about on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Consulate General of France in New York.

As a Guest, invited to participate in this year’s first of the breakfasts series organized together with LVMH and Dom Pérignon, the ex-hostage was able to find the words to describe the years of captivity by the FARC, during which even eating and sleeping did not amount for relief. “How did you find the power to resist? Were there times when you ever abandoned hope?” Ingrid answered the questions asked by the journalist Janet Guyon with the same smile, mixed with gravity, reminding us of the incredible force of love and support of her relatives and friends.
