On January 26 at the Consulate General of France, the 9/11 Tribute Center, a project of the September 11th Families’ Association, conducted several videotaped interviews about the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in New York, with reference to the more recent attacks in Paris and Nice.
Interviewed by Ms. Meriam Lobel of the 9/11 Tribute Center were Ms. Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul Generale of France in New York; Ms. Dening Wu Lohez, founder and president of the Jérôme Lohez 9/11 Scholarship Foundation; and Mr. Soliman Elcheikh, a Lohez 9/11 Foundation Scholar, completing a dual degree in Economics between Columbia University and Sciences Po.
Ms. Lohez lost her husband Jérôme, a Frenchman, in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. In his memory, she founded in 2005 the scholarship foundation that encourages international study among outstanding students from France, China and the USA. To date, the foundation has awarded 40 scholarships to dual-degree students on three continents.
