This spring in conjunction with NYCxDesign, New York City’s annual celebration of design, the MoMA Design Store shined a spotlight on the dynamic French tech startup scene. The MoMA teams collaborated with La French Tech to select over twenty of France’s most innovative new technology products. The full collection went on view and was available all May at the store’s Soho and Midtown locations as well as online at store.moma.org.

“In my travels to scout the best products from around the globe, my team and I started to see an undeniable link back to France, which is now home to some of the most innovative technology companies in the world,” said Emmanuel Plat, MoMA Director of Merchandising. “We are incredibly excited to give this group of entrepreneurs a platform at MoMA Design Store. NYCxDesign is the perfect opportunity to tell this story and introduce their products to a wider audience.”

“France is home to some of today’s best tech and entrepreneurial talents and is amongst the leaders in IoT, deeptech, and design, as success stories such as Devialet, Parrot, and Sigfox demonstrate. World-class engineering programs, a growing international venture capital presence, and tech visa programs have all contributed to making France an especially fertile ground for innovation and a new entrepreneurial mindset.” declared French Tech Ambassador in NYC Jonathan Benhamoun Co founder and CEO of PeopleDoc.

A growing ecosystem of spaces across France is helping to nurture talent, from funding to manufacturing, providing vibrant communities where entrepreneurship can thrive. Among them, the French Tech community has grown exponentially over the past 5 years, making it one of the most dynamic in Europe.

“I am very proud to support La French Tech. In less than 5 years, it has become such a strong symbol of what France is about: innovation, talent, and creativity,” explained Pascal Cagni, former Vice President of Apple EMEIA and Chairman of the Board of Business France at the event. “The selection of products showcased is beautifully designed and innovative, fitting perfectly into their offering. It is a great honor for La French Tech to be celebrated at MoMA Design Store.”
