On November 8th, Nicolas Goegel was received by Daniel A. Nigro, Commissioner of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), in the presence of Robert R. Turner, First Deputy Fire Commissioner, James E. Leonard, Chief of Department, and Bernard Faro, Deputy Consul General of France.

Mr. Goegel, fireman in Bordeaux for 20 years and the founder of the Firemen of the World Museum donated to the FDNY a helmet from the French firefighters.

The meeting was an occasion to renew the bond of friendship between the French and the American Fire Departments and recall their years of cooperation, especially in the wake of 9/11.
