Visit by Emmanuel Macron to New York, Boston and Washington, D.C.

Following his visit to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2015, Emmanuel Macron, Minister of the Economy, Industry and the Digital Sector, will visit New York, Boston and Washington from June 24 to 26. The objective of this visit is threefold:

- To highlight French expertise in state-of-the-art technology - French tech, biotech, and medtech - and to exchange views about U.S. experience in the field of innovation;

- To promote France’s attractiveness and to highlight the reforms under way in France;

- To strengthen bilateral industrial and trade relations with the United States


Wednesday, June 24 – New York

5:40 pm to 6:00 pm: Speech at the French Touch Conference (open to the press)
Venue: AXA Center - 787 7th Avenue, between 51st and 52nd Street

6:10 pm to 6:20 pm: Speech in the presence of Axelle Lemaire, Minister of State for the Digital Sector, at the French Touch Conference (open to the press)

6:25 pm to 7:00 pm: Press briefing with the French and American press
Venue: AXA Center - 787 7th Avenue, between 51st and 52nd Street

7:30 pm to 8:30 pm: Reception at the Consulate attended by French companies participating in the French Touch Conference and French members of the New York tech ecosystem

8:30 pm: Dinner with business leaders and investors

Thursday, June 25 – New York

8:00 am to 9:30 am: Breakfast with the Economic Club of New York attended by French and American venture capitalists

Thursday, June 25 – Boston

3:30 pm to 4:30 pm: Visit to Year Up (open to the press): non-profit organization that promotes education and workforce training for young Americans (aged 18-24) from disadvantaged backgrounds
Venue: Year Up, 93 Summer St, 5th Floor, Boston MA 02110

5:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Visit to Harvard Innovation Lab

6:15 pm to 7:45 pm: Reception at Genzyme with the French and American biotech community

8:30 pm: Dinner attended by French business leaders from the biotech/ health delegation

Friday, June 26 – Washington, D.C.

9:30 to 10:30 am: Meeting with David Lipton, First Deputy Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF)

10:45 to 11:30 am: Meeting with Jack Lew, Secretary of the Treasury

11:40 am to 12:25 pm: Press briefing with the French and American media
Venue: Sofitel, 806 15th Street NW - Washington, DC 20005

12:30 pm to 2:00 pm: Lunch at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce attended by American business leaders

2:15 pm to 3:15 pm: Meeting at the Brookings Institution

3:45 pm to 4:30 pm: Meeting with Bruce Andrews, Deputy Secretary of Commerce, Department of Commerce
