Young Patrons of the Louvre

JPEGThe Young Patrons of the American Friends of the Louvre held their first gala evening at the Consulate General of France in New York on Thursday May 10, 2012. The event was hosted under the High Patronage of the Consul General, Mr. Philippe Lalliot, who praised the dedication of this new generation of philanthropists: “Patronage is a relationship of confidence, which builds up and strengthens with time. It is a friendship, which dies off if neglected. Yet, when I see how many of you came tonight, I say to myself this friendship has a bright future ahead of it. The succession is assured.”

The American Friends of the Louvre is a non-profit organization founded in 2002, with the objective of strengthening the ties between the Louvre Museum and the American public. In 2012, nearly one million Americans visited the galleries of the renowned museum. The organization supports many restoration projects and touring exhibitions, thanks to its patronage activities.
