Join Ambassador Philippe Etienne, Consul General Anne-Claire Legendre, the Lycée Français in New York’s marching band Les Cadets Lafayette, singer Emel Mathlouthi, and DJ Laurent Vacher for a unique Bastille Day celebration online starting July 13th at 5:30pm.

At 5:30pm, Consul General Anne-Claire Legendre will convey her Bastille Day message during a Facebook live. And you are invited to sing the anthems with the marching band from the Lycée Français in New York “Les Cadets Lafayette”.

At 6pm, her speech will be followed by an exceptional livestream music show: the French & Tunisian voice Emel Mathlouti will bring her mystical and powerful world with an exceptional 30 minutes performance. Former symbol of the Tunisian revolution in 2011, Emel Mathlouthi performed her song, Kelmti Horra ("my word is free”) at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and never stopped
singing for Freedom.

At 5pm (Washington DC time), do not miss your rendez-vous with our ambassador Philippe Étienne! Log on to this page or on French Embassy in the US’ Facebook page to attend the Ambassador’s address to the French community, messages from your consuls, as well as speeches from our special guests - including astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who will talk from Houston.

At 7:30 pm, in the spirit of the Bal du 14 juillet, come and dance with Laurent Vacher who will be closing the celebration with a DJ set. Laurent Vacher is one of the most prominent fashion musical directors for brands such as Louis Vuitton or Hermès. His set will feature pop songs with a great dose of strong beats and chic. Don’t forget to take out your "marinières" and buy your casquettes Bastille Day special edition created by Bragard for the occasion.
