Conferences@934: Gender equality in France
On March 4th 2013, on the occasion of her visit to New York for the UN Commission on the Status of Women, the Minister of Women’s Rights and Government’s spokesperson, Ms Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, presented her point of view on the role of women in our society, at the Consulate General of France in New York.
She spoke of the adopted measures to promote gender equality at high professional and administrative positions at private businesses and in the public sphere, while underlining the importance of fighting sexist stereotypes. The Minister enumerated her priorities in a discussion with Diane Brady (Bloomberg Businessweek): providing care to women in difficulty, professional equality and fighting acts of violence against women.
