On November 10th, during a ceremony held at the Consulate General of France in New York, Mr. Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., was awarded the Legion of Honor. This prestigious distinction is an expression of France’s deep gratitude to Fabrizio Freda’s devotion to promoting France’s culture, economy and excellence through his inspiring career.

In March 2008, Mr. Freda became the President and COO of the Estée Lauder Companies, one of the world’s leading companies in the prestige beauty industry. He then became CEO in July 2009. Under his strategic impetus, the company has transformed its portfolio, achieved record sales, delivered profitable growth, and strongly accelerated the development of luxury fragrances, acquiring two French brands in 2016.

The Estée Lauder Companies continues to invest in France and is deeply embedded in the cosmetic value chain across the country. Additionally, Mr. Freda was instrumental in strengthening the Estée Lauder Companies’ regional EMEA headquarters in Neuilly-sur-Seine, and they currently employ more than 1000 people in France. The company’s acquisitions of French brands and investments in the country contribute to cement and advance France’s position as the world’s leading #luxury power.

The medal of the Legion of Honor was presented by the Ambassador of France to the United States, Laurent Bili.
