Support for the Associational Network of French Citizens Abroad (STAFE): 4 projects selected from New York [fr]

The STAFE (Soutien au Tissu Associatif des Français de l’Etranger) is an institutional plan from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs whose goal is to support French associations abroad. The associations presenting the best projects can receive substantial subsidies to help realize them.

In order to be eligible, the projects had to be related to education, charity, culture or socio-economic insertion, and contribute to the international exposure of France, as well as support the French and the French-speaking community abroad.

The Consulate called for proposals last May. 4 projects from New York were selected by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs:

  • BZH New York Inc, for its project of welcoming Bagad Kemper for the Britanny Feast 2020, will receive 10 000 €. These funds will allow them to invite and receive a famous Briton musician group next May.
  • The Ballet des Amériques School & Company INC will be granted 11 000 € to set up its premiere in Manhattan. As a result, the association will be able to perform in front of New York’s general public.
  • The French Institute Alliance Française, for its Young Audience Program (YAP), will be credited 7 500 €. Thanks to these subsidies, it will organize several events geared for a young audience, promoting French art and culture.
  • The Mandala School will receive 13 977 € put in place its “soirées café” and various classes of French language and civilization. These funds will be used to increase the diversity of the classes and workshops proposed by the association related to French language and culture.
